Bangladesh Jamaat-e- Islami Dhaka City North Ameer Mohammad Selim Uddin and the member of central executive council urges the city dwellers to utilize the teachings of the holy month of Ramadan properly. He says Ramadan is the month of blessings, mercy and salvation from the torment of Hell. He also urges them to utilize the teachings of this month for self-purification and attaining Taqwa. Jamaat Dhaka City North Ameer issues these in a message of greetings on the eve of the holy month of Ramadan.
Selim Uddin further says, “Undoubtedly, Ramadan is the best month. In this month, Allah (SW) has revealed The Holy Quran.” Then he quotes the verse no.185 of Al-Baqara of The Holy Quran.
Here, Allah (SW) says, “The month of Ramadan in which was revealed the Quran, a guidance for mankind and clear proofs for the guidance and the criterion (between right and wrong). So whoever of you sights (the crescent on the first night of) the month (of Ramadan i.e. is present at his home), he must observe Saum (fasts) that month, and whoever is ill or on a journey, the same number (of days which one did not observe Saum (fasts) must be made up) from other days. Allah intends for you ease, and He does not want to make things difficult for you. (He wants that you) must complete the same number (of days), and that you must magnify Allah (i.e. to say Takbeer (Allahu-Akbar; Allah is the Most Great) on seeing the crescent of the months of Ramadan and Shawwal) for having guided you so that you may be grateful to Him.”
In the Hadith Qudsi, Allah (SW) says, “All the deeds of the servant are for his own sake; but fasting is only for Me. So I Myself will pay it for.” (Sahih Al-Bukhari, Hadith no. 1904)
The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) says, “Whoever believes in Allah (SW) and fasts in the month of Ramadan for the sake of gaining goodness, Allah (SW) will forgive him all his sins.” (Sahih Al-Bukhari, Hadith no. 2014)
“Ramadan is also called the month of the Quran revelation. The revelation of the Quran in this month means that the believers will study and research the Quran. They will follow the messages of the Holy Quran in their daily lives. Gabriel (PBUH) recited the Holy Quran with the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) during this month. The Prophet (SAW) recites the full Holy Quran to Gabriel (PBUH) twice in Ramadan the year when He dies.
The generosity of the Prophet (SAW) would have increased more than usual in the month of Ramadan. He donated a lot when He had donated. When He helped someone, He did so in such a way that he was no longer afraid of poverty. Therefore, every believer should attain the pleasure of Allah (SW) by giving more and more alms in this month,” he adds.
“We everyone should work together to establish a society based on Zakat and Korze Hasana against interest for the sake humanity,” he further adds.
Selim Uddin urges all the activists of Islamic movement to work together for the economic freedom of mass people.
He again adds, “The price of daily necessities has been reduced in many countries of the world on the occasion of holy Ramadan but it has been increased in our country. The Ministry of Commerce and the Directorate of National Consumers Right Protection have miserably been failed to control price hike. Most of the ministers and government high officials have an unlawful connection with the market syndicators and so the market system is now out of control. Government should be taken immediate steps to reduce price hike. Hotels and restaurants should remain closed at daytime. The broadcasting of obscene films must be stopped.” He urges the government to play an effective role to maintain the purity of the holy month of Ramadan.
“Basically, this glorious month is the month of self-restraint, self-purification and spiritual salvation. So, by observing fasting and Qiyam, we should be asked to Allah (SW) more and more. Fasting has been made mandatory so that people may gain earthly success and deliverance from the torment of Hell through the attainment of Taqwa,” the City Ameer again says.
Allah (SW) says, “The month of Ramadan in which was revealed the Quran, a guidance for mankind and clear proofs for the guidance and the criterion (between right and wrong). So whoever of you sights (the crescent on the first night of) the month (of Ramadan i.e. is present at his home), he must observe Saum (fasts) that month…” Al Quran [02:183]
“So, every Muslim should fast in the month of Ramadan so that they can purify themselves by attaining Taqwa,” he adds.
